Adam'sTip of the Week
It's now time to make sure that the hard workyou have done pays off on the golf course. Whenyou work on your swing on the driving range youwill be thinking about what you are trying toachieve, using practise swings and/or drills itis often hard to take the work you have beendoing on the driving range to the golf course.
What you need to do is consolidate your swingthoughts down to just one or two, these thoughtsshould be used in your practise swings in yourpre shot routine. Once we address the ball andyou should be concentrating solely on the targetand commit to your golf swing. This sounds easy, however what happens when you hit a bad shot? Atthis point most people go back into practisemode trying to analyse what technical flawcaused their bad shot, resulting to a new swingthought on the next shot, another poor shot andwe move to yet another swing thought and so on.Before we know it we can't even remember whatour original thoughts were for the day!
The only way to play good golf on a consistentbasis is to have a consistent practise routine, which is linked directly to the swing thoughtsthat you use when you play golf. These should bea small list of thoughts but you only use two atmost for the day and you stick with them thewhole way round, even if you are having a badday. I would like you to try and work on thesame things for 4 weeks and play with the samethoughts for this period of time, you will besurprised how consistently your game becomes.
It has been said that the definition of insanityis to do the same thing over and over and expecta different result. If your someone that changesyour golf swing and thoughts every time you playand practise, then guess what you will get whatyou have always got……inconsistency.
Letus help you play your best this year andput you a practise plan together ready for thenew season.
