I hope you are all well and enjoying some good golf, the course is in great condition and we haven't had any rain for almost 5 days!
Open fever- who do you think will win? The Open Championship is fast approaching, the course at Royal Troon looks to be in fantastic condition with some bits of juicy rough to say the least! The last time the Open was at Troon in 2004, Todd Hamilton won with a score of -10, interestingly 67 was the lowest score of the week shot by Todd Hamilton, Davis Love III and Lee Westwood. I am sure the tournament will be great viewing, fingers crossed for a British winner. Our picks for the week are; Sergio Garcia (he has to win a Major eventually doesn't he?!) Rickie Fowler and for an outside bet Russell Knox. In this week's newsletter we are running a competition, send us your pick on who will win the Claret Jug and if they do you will win a dozen Titleist Pro V1s. Please note- only 1 pick per person!
Adam and I are away Thursday and Friday playing in a Midlands Order of Merit event at Wellingborough followed by the Pro Am on Friday, fingers crossed for some good weather and better golf! See next week's newsletter to see how we get on.

We had the following report sent in by Christine Goodall.
"Today's win 6-1 against Daventry at home.
A great big thank you to all who have played so far this season. We are a team and everyone's contribution counts.
It is not just the result of each game. The order we go out in is significant to each of the other players in terms of handicaps and shots given.
We are so lucky to have the support and good wishes from our many lady members.
The support, skill and enthusiasm of our Professionals Adam and Andy and the early practice sessions have been invaluable.
A big thank you to Richard, Emma and team for a well-stocked feast before or after our home games.
And the course! Great condition makes playing a pleasure.
So what now?
We need Daventry to beat Brampton Heath! Then we go through to the semi-finals.
If Brampton Heath win their remaining 2 games 7-0 or 6-1 +7-0 they go through. We will not know till 24th July
Watch this space.
So exciting!"

Tip of the Week
This week we are going to talk about how to play more consistent golf.
In our lessons we often have people telling us how they are hitting the ball great on the driving range and when they practise, however once they get onto the golf course they don't hit the ball anywhere near how they do on the driving range.
One issue that can effect this, is in practise often people hit ball after ball on the range with the same club, getting into a rhythm with said club, standing in the same position and hitting the same club at the same target over and over again. When do we do this in the golf course? Please note this method of practise is very useful when working on your swing drills.
To help move your range game to the golf course, this week I suggest you change the way you practise. Next time you're practising with 50 balls, use the first 20-30 balls to go through your practise drills etc. With the remaining balls try using a different club and a different target on every shot. I also want you go through your pre shot routine like you would on the course; taking your time to line yourself up and visualising the shot with your practise swing. Then executing your shot.
Go through this routine on every shot and change your target and club every time. This way you are practising just like you play golf.
You will be surprised how much better you start to play on the course. Remember golf is an 18 hole competition so don't be hard on yourself if you have a bad few holes early on.
Is it the 'Big Three' or the 'Big Four'?
Just when you thought Jason Day, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy were all set to divvy up golf's biggest prizes, along comes big-hitting Dustin Johnson. The US champion is now number two in the world and looks to be finally fulfilling his potential after another fine win at the weekend - and a big one too at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. For years Johnson seemed destined to be the bridesmaid, now he's one of the favourites to go back-to-back in Majors and take the Claret Jug back across the Atlantic.
Next week's Open at Royal Troon could be a classic
Which leads us on to a new section of our website - our regular poll, and we want your votes. Tell us who you think will win the Open Championship next week; will it be Day, Johnson, Spieth, McIlroy or A.N. Other?
