Good afternoon golfers, it's only right to start with last week's sporting spectacle- The Ryder Cup. 

Unfortunately this ended with a win for the United States for the first time in eight years. 

After a disastrous open morning foursomes which saw Europe lose all 4 matches, entering Sundays singles games trailing 91/2- 61/2. We were all dreaming of a repeat of Medinah and Open champion Henrik Stenson alongside rookies Thomas Pieters and Rafa Cabrera Bello put early points on the board to offer some hope to another dream comeback. In the top match between Rory McIlroy and Patrick Reed had been the form men for their teams all week and they produced a front nine of the highest quality in the opening match, making eight birdies and an eagle between them to reach the turn all square. 

On a back nine where both players made some mistakes, it was Reed who birdied the last to ensure a half and a one up win. The standard of play throughout the day was spectacular (especially for the USA) but the match of the day- Sergio Garcia Vs Mickelson combined for 19 birdie, both holing great putts on the last hole for birdies and a well-deserved half for both players. 

A fantastic performance by rookie Thomas Pieters who scored a record breaking 4 points from 5 (for a rookie) was enough to make his mark on world golf and a become a favourite with the fans! 

Roll on Paris 2018 where Europe will be looking to get their cup back!

Drill Session- a week's practise in 1 hour
