Good afternoon golfers, Adam and I were away earlier in the week at the Foremost 2016 Conference, at the MK Dons Stadium in Milton Keynes. We had various seminars and lectures with meet manufactures, other Pro's and other people from the industry to look at what is coming up and happening in golf. We are always keen to learn and strive to ensure we are doing the best job possible and offer the very best level of service possible.

Adam Coaching update

It is with great pleasure I can announce Adam has been invited to join the Northamptonshire County first team coaching squad. He joins the coaching staff of Shane Rose, Nick Soto and Adam Myers.

Adam has worked very hard on his coaching in the last few years, building a fantastic reputation which hasn't gone unnoticed. Many of you have worked on your games, and will know first-hand how passionate, professional and hardworking he is.

Adam would like to thank the members of PMGC for their continued support and looks forward to helping many of you with your game. Please note this doesn't affect Adam's current role he just will just need to work more and sleep less!

On a personal note I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate my good friend and business partner on his achievement. I know this was one of his personal goals, and to achieve it at this stage in his career is a compliment to both his teaching ability and the person he is.

Well done Coach Chambo!

Tour news

European Tour Update:

This weekend see's the finale of the European Tour season as well as the Race to Dubai. There are 4 heavy hitters all competing for the Race to Dubai title this week at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. Irishmen Rory McIlroy, the big Swede Henrik Stenson, Masters Champion Danny Willet and on form Alex Noren. All four men have the chance to take the title. However to many people's surprise the headlines from the first days play have been stolen by none other than Lee Westwood with a fantastic opening round of 66 (-6 Par) as all the leaders struggle to find their feet. It seems as though tensions are high as we near the end of the season. Tune in over the weekend and see who will be crowned king.

Tip of the week

Leading on from last week's tip about getting the most out of your drives, this week we are going to talk about your tempo and timing which most people wouldn't think would help improve distance. But what this does is make it much easier to get everything in your swing working in the correct time or sequence. This results in hitting the centre of the club face more often, which in turn means great consistency.

The research has shown that the best tempo is a 3-1 ratio, which means 3 in the backswing and 1 in the downswing. Everyone has their own rhythm, fast or slow, but it is important to maintain the 3-1 ratio. We have all heard the Pro's talking about rhythm and timing, these are both key in any great golf swing.

Next time you head to the driving range try to find a rhythm that's uses this 3-1 ratio for your swing and try to repeat it with every club in the bag. This will take some practice, but once you have worked on this, you will be amazed how much more consistent you become.

Please let us know if you need any help or advice.
