Good afternoon golfers many thanks for taking the time to read this weeks instalment of our newsletter. It has been great to play some golf in fantastic weather. The course is in great condition and we hope you are all enjoying your golf!
What a great month or so of sport we have coming up - The World Cup, US Open and Wimbledon. Fingers crossed for England, let's hope they can perform better than expected and at the very least get out of the group! The US Open started last night with Martin Kaymer taking an early 3 shot lead by shooting a 65 (-5). English amateur Matt Fitzpatrick started very well shooting 71 (+1). The course looks very different to the last time the US Open was based at Pinehurst No 2. Click here to let us know who you think will win!
As Adam mentioned in last week's newsletter 6 members and I had a week's golf in Scotland. 8 rounds in 7 days on some of the best courses in the UK. The weather was mostly kind and I really cannot recommend that part of the world for golf enough. We were based in St Andrews surrounded by golfers and golf courses! We stopped at Musselburgh G.C on our way for a game where we were warmly welcomed and the course was great. We are twinned with Musselburgh as they had their 75th Anniversary last year and are a James Braid design (opened the same year as PMGC). PMGC members can enjoy FREE golf there using our reciprocal arrangement.
Adam and I played at Stoke Rochford GC on Thursday in their annual Pro Am. We had perfect golf weather no wind and warm weather on a golf course in great condition. Unfortunately after a tough day on the greens I shot 74 (+4). Adam faired a lot better shooting 70 (even par) to finish tied 6th. With the season now in full flow- we have plenty of Pro Ams to play in. If you are interested in playing in any of these please contact us. Click here to let us know.
Many thanks to the 14 PMGC Seniors who came to the group coaching session on Wednesday, watch this space for more group lessons.

Often an area of the game people have nightmares about are bunker shots. There are a some key fundamentals you must get right to hit good/consistent bunker shots.
Remember the sand takes the ball out and not the club
Hit the sand in a consistent spot (1-2 inches behind)
Keep your weight forwards
Control distance with club selection and length of swing.
Don’t forget its Father's Day on Sunday - we have a nice selection of gift packages and presents available. We can also provide shop vouchers if you are unsure what to get!
Have a great weekend golfers and we look forward to seeing you all soon.
