Hello golfers, we hope you are all well and enjoying your golf. The weather has really changed today- on the plus side the rain will help the golf course as we have a really warm, dry spell of late.
You may decide to stay indoors until the rain stops, you won’t be disappointed with some great sport on show at the moment it’s difficult to choose between the World Cup, Wimbledon or the golf. The BMW International Open got underway yesterday, two young Englishmen Andy Sullivan and Danny Willet starting very well
Unfortunately Open Qualifying did not go to plan on Monday for Adam and I, which was a great shame as we both went in with some good form and high hopes. Just shows how this game can quickly change! We have the Glazerite Trophy at Wellingborough next Thursday which we hope to perform better in.
The Early Bird - after teeing off at 5.30am everyone deserves a well done. I don’t think we would fancy it for some reason!

Our Pro away day on Friday has 48 members confirmed to play at Belton Park, we look forward to having a great day. Bunkers
A lot of players nemesis and one of the most misunderstood shots in golf. If you are struggling or have any questions book a lesson and improve your bunker play. Some fundamental tips-
Hit the sand in the same spot (1-2 inches behind) control the distance by swing length and club selection.
Ball forwards in stance (1-2 inches)— remember we don’t make contact with ball -the sand lifts it.
Open the clubface (adds loft and bounce) and contract face aim by opening the stance
Weight 60-40 onto front foot
This is the guidelines to hit good consistent bunker shots. We will be running some bunker group lessons in the coming weeks.
