Captain’s day

What a weekend, a great time was had by all celebrating Ian’s Captains weekend. On the Friday night not even the rain could dampen spirits for the beer festival, putting competition and nearest to the pin competitions. The main event was held on Saturday with an individual stableford competition that saw over 190 players taking part, our beat the Pro challenge on the 16th proved to be popular and people enjoyed ‘taking us on’ and in many cases beating us to double their stake as credit in the Pro Shop (credit has now been added to accounts).

A new competition played on Sunday was ‘The greenkeepers revenge’ Texas scramble which proved to be a big hit, and it has been great to hear how much people enjoyed it! Stephen and his team has set up some interesting challenges and features on the course!

Well done to the Hollingsworth team winning their semi final 3-2 against Farthingstone at Northants County on Sunday. The winning pairs Stephen Smail and Simon Purkiss, Scott O'Connor and Bob Duthie, Martin Humphries and Dom Ralfs. The final against Northampton GC at Overstone Sunday 27th August, any support on the day would be great, good luck team!
