Fitting matters Many of you have been custom fitted, and we would never recommend buying a club without being custom fitted for it by an authorised and qualified fitter. The aim of custom fitting is to ensure your equipment is getting the most out of your game, whether that be a few extra yards, hitting more fairways, crisper iron shots or more success from bunkers, custom fit clubs can help. However, something we often see with drivers and fairway woods is, and in my opinion, one of the downsides of modern equipment, is the ability to change the playing characteristics with a click of a wrench! Once your club has been fitted and set up, it is best not to change it without getting some advice or refit for the club. By moving lofts, fade/draw bias and weights, you're changing the clubs performance dramatically. Check out the picture below, one was a customer who booked a fitting for a new driver but we ended up setting his current one correctly and look at the difference. The other picture is a fitting Andy did for Adam, look how much the numbers changed by moving weight and loft (shaft and head didn't change). Fittings don't always have to be about buying new clubs, it can be to fit your current clubs to make sure you are getting the best out of them! Perhaps we should hold onto the wrenches in future?
