Hello Golfers,

Well what a mix bag this week has been! To think at the start of the week we were closed due to snow and ice, by Tuesday the sun was shining and the course was clear and then on Wednesday the Northants PGA Pro-Am could go ahead. The feedback regarding the condition of the course has been outstanding, considering we have had a lot of snow and even more rain, its testament to the hard work Steve and his team have put in. Lets hope spring is now here and the season can really kick off!

Masters Sweepstake

The Masters is only 2 weeks away, we are sure it as always it will be great viewing, and this year we are running a Masters Sweepstake, the price per ticket is £5, and the draw for players is on the Wednesday of the Masters (players picked at random on the week of the Masters).

Northants PGA Winter Pro-Am

It was the Northants PGA Winter Pro-Am on Wednesday in where 20 teams took part. Conditions proved tough and the winning score in the Pro individual was 70, with Simon Lilly and Michael Campbell sharing 1st place, finishing 3 clear of the rest of the field. Adam shot 76 to finish tied 5th and Sam shot 79 to finish tied 10th. The team event was tied between Michael Campbell and Mike Gallagher's teams.

Scratch Team 2018 - Directors cup v Burghley Park GC (a) 17th March 2018

Burghley Park 2 vs PMGC 4

A strong Milton line-up travelled to Burghley for the annual curtain raiser to the season. Played in sub zero temperatures, it was very much survival of the fittest.

Milton prevailed making this the 6th victory in a row to bring the Trophy back.

Wins from Tom Burgh and Mark Phillips at the top of the order put us off to a great start but we were then pegged back with Jamie Hibbert/Nathan Holt and Mick Bentley and myself losing matches on the “last” hole. 2:1 down.

However the tail wagged with the last three matches going to Milton. Dom Ralfs/Chris White won down the last and Chris Savage/Sam Ludlow won 3 & 2.

Special mention to Phil Hughes and Richard Cole who won by the biggest margin of 5 & 4.

Lets hope this is the start of a great season, just with some warmth!
