Course Maintenance - Work scheduled next week Firstly we had our second STRI Agronomist visit on Monday, one of the major discussion points being the recovery options following the recent prolonged dry spells. We were complimented on the overall condition and presentation of the Course, and referenced last winter's installation of the new mainline irrigation being a benefit already. The full report should be available early next week, and copies will be available in the clubhouse as normal. We've added below the activities we are proposing to work on as part of the Winter Program. This work is likely to start following the Heavy Greens Maintenance scheduled for 8th-10th October. We do however need to do some work on a number of the fairways to aid in the recovery during the late Autumn through to early Spring. From Monday 1st October the major stressed areas on fairways, with particular attention to the 3rd and 6th fairways, will be raked, verti-drained and overseeded. Other areas will be raked and verti-drained to aid moisture access below the surface. Later in the week a number of tees, not highlighted in the program, will be overseeded. Please bear with the staff next week, and give them priority, and the sooner this work can be completed. There will be PREFERRED LIES in operation from Monday.
