*Harlestone and Wellingborough agreed not to play final game. No points awarded. So as reported last time, we managed to avoid dreaded relegation to Division 2. No mean achievement given our position after 3 games. The good news though, we were the only team to not lose at home. Milton is a fortress and other clubs always find it difficult to play here. The bad news, we simply cannot get our strongest squad out on away games to improve prospects. Something to work on for next year. The Kingsthorpe away game where we lost 5 ½ - 2 ½ was vital. We could have had a result there and with an away win under the belt, it could have been so different! Top points scorers for the season: Martin Herson - Played 10, Won, 6 Lost 4. The Captain leading by example!
Tom Burgh - Played 8, Won, 5 Halved, 1 Lost 2. Great season playing down the order with best players of the opposition.
Jay Noye - Played 5, Won, 4 Lost 1. Great win percentage and has played solid all year.
James Walters - Played 4, Won 3, Lost 1. Again excellent win ratio.
A league of 5 next year, 2 went down, Staverton came up. We have the squad to push Northants County. We are better than Harlestone and Wellingborough! We just need to get our best squad out playing. Thanks to all who have played this year. It’s been a tough road but one I have enjoyed (at times!). Martin Herson.
