Welcome to another edition of our newsletter, we hope you are well and have managed to get some golf in. In this week’s newsletter we have an update from the juniors, a tip to help you strike your chips with confidence, and all the recent competition results. Enjoy the read!

Club news

Captains Drive In

It is the Captains’ Drive in this Saturday and it would be great to see you at the Club to welcome the new Captains. We would like to thank Graham, Ros, Steve and Sam for their hard work throughout their respective Captains’ years and wish Mike, Karen, Graham and Sam all the best for the coming year starting with their tee shot at noon Saturday.

Drive-In Sweep

How far will Mike Walters (H/c 10) and Karen Trevor (H/c 12) hit their drives on Captains Drive-In this coming Saturday?

To enter the sweep, all you have to do is email the office guessing the yardage of each Captains drive.

Tell them the yardages you choose, and they will debit your Smartcard with the £2 sweep which will go to the Captain’s joint Local Charity, Little Miracles.

The winners will be announced at the Drive-In Buffet at approximately 1pm on Drive-In day.

Junior news

Half term update…

February half term has seen the junior season kick off and our juniors are already on top form. Ollie Clark stormed to victory in the Junior February Stableford with a magnificent 46 points with Euan Herson second with 40 points.

In the Winter Bogey competition, Will Clark matched brother Ollie's form with a spectacular +7 to win the overall competition and in form Euan Herson took the Division One honours with +5. Shivani Karthikeyan continued her recent good form with another good round of +2.

In our annual friendly warm up match against Northampton, PMGC triumphed 11-5 with notable victories coming from Chelsey Sharp (9&8), Euan Herson (6&5) and Emily Horsted (5&4) alongside very good wins for team debutants Charlie Pearce (8&7), Will Clark and Isaac Wakefield. Some of the successful PMGC team are pictured here in their smart new 2019 junior team kit and we would like to thank Lisa and Stephen Smith for their very generous sponsorship of the kit this year.

The winds of change

As we make our way through February, you may begin to notice feeling warmer at the end of a round compared to previous weeks.
