Good afternoon golfers,
Many thanks to everyone who came along to our open night on Wednesday, it was great to see so many of you and we hope you had a good time. We will have the FlightScope set up on the first tee to measure all of the drives, followed by drinks and a buffet in the Clubhouse. We would like to take this opportunity to wish Neil, Helen, Terry and Aaron all the best for the year and look forward to being able to help you in anyway we can.

Following what feels like endless rain you’re bound to encounter a wet lie or two. This time of year/conditions makes it even more vital to strike the ball cleanly- remember ball then turf! To help this we would advise people putting the ball back slightly in your stance to help steepen the angle of attack and encourage you to hit down onto the back of the ball. You may notice the ball will fly slightly lower than normal so bear this in mind when selecting your shot.
If putting the ball back in the stance doesn’t work for you, really try to make sure you are getting as much weight on to your left foot (for a right handed player) in your downswing and swing through into a full follow-through. Quite often we see people hanging back on their back foot, trying to lift the ball into the air and this encourages you to hit the ground before the ball. Bear in mind it's even more important when you are hitting fairway woods and hybrids! This time of year it's much easier to hit fairway woods and hybrids as opposed to long irons. We have plenty of demos if you would like to give them a try.
