Good afternoon golfers, we hope you are all well and many thanks for reading this week's newsletter.
The Captains Drive In on Saturday was excellent with this year's Captains arriving in style, dressed for the occasion.
First to tee off was our assistant and Junior Captain Aaron Wilkinson who, under pressure, hit his drive straight down the fairway a long 278 yards into the water! Senior Captain Terry Locks went second hitting a nice drive down the right hand side, our Lady Captain Helen Long hit a great drive from the white tees straight down the middle. Finally it was the Captains turn, the pressure was high- he was following three good drives, members waiting and watching in anticipation. Up steps the Captain and hits his drive a whopping 300 yards straight down the middle of the fairway, unfortunately for Neil it was 146 yards forwards and about 150 yards straight up into the air. A great moment which bought a smile to everyone there, and took some paint off the top of the Captains driver.
We hope you all had a great day and enjoyed the occasion, many thanks for everyone who came along to support the Captains.

Have a great weekend, if you’re planning on playing make sure you wrap up warm as you’ll have more club head speed, lower your risk of injury and have more chance of playing well! Also it’s even more beneficial to hit a few balls and have a warm up before you play.
