COVID-19 statement Dear Members, We are sure you will have read and heard plenty of information over the past week relating to the coronavirus outbreak and COVID-19. Our purpose in writing to you now is to inform you of the strategy Peterborough Milton Golf Club are putting in place with immediate effect. The Board of Directors are committed to keep the Club operating as normally as possible, however we do seek our Members co-operation in order to do this. We have already been contacted by many groups and individuals cancelling bookings previously made for functions and golfing visits and we anticipate all such events will now not take place. In order to protect our Members and staff, the Board of Directors are therefore putting into place the following measures, which we have listed as bullet-points for ease of reading: We recommend all our Members follow Government Guidelines in respect of their own and others personal health and safety. Any Member of the Club returning from abroad, regardless of the country from which they travel, must not attend the Club for a minimum of 14-days and are urged to self-isolate during that time.
Cash In an effort to prevent the spread of the virus on notes and coins, we will not be accepting any cash. Therefore, Members must only use their Smartcards at the Bar. Top-ups must be made using a Debit Card only and only for sums less than £30 so the ‘Contactless’ system can be used.
Course - The Course will remain open to Members and their Guests.
- Anyone playing the course does so at their own risk.
- No visitors or players from our Reciprocal Clubs will be permitted.
- At times when the Halfway House is open, members must not enter the building either to pay or collect their orders. Sean or Lyn will bring the orders out to their customers at the table adjacent to the facility.
- Sean’s Radio handset on the 9th Tee will not be used, Members are temporarily permitted to use their own mobile phone to call Sean to place orders. Sean’s number will be displayed.
- With effect from Friday 20th March, tee times for all Social Golf between 7am and 2pm must be booked by using HDID or the Club V1 App and will be available for booking from 8am tomorrow, Thursday 19th March. Bookings may be taken for two weeks in advance of the tee time required.
If you have difficulty with this, please contact the Pro-Shop or the Secretary’s Office. On the day, before their tee time, players are required to check into the Professionals Shop. Only the players booked in will be permitted to go onto the course. - When you have a tee time booked, in order to avoid groups forming, do not come to the Club until just before your tee time.
- Bunker rakes have been removed.
- Ball Washers, Drinking Fountains and the Shoe Cleaning Compressor have been taken out of service.
- Flagsticks have been adjusted so golf balls do not fall to the bottom of the cup.
- Flagsticks are not to be removed from the hole.
- Only handle your own golf ball.
Clubhouse - All Club functions, Club matches and organised gatherings have been cancelled until further notice.
- We will be taking a variety of measures within the Clubhouse in an attempt to minimise the risk of this virus being spread by touch.
- In order to ensure the required social distancing, the Stud-Bar will not be available, and members will be required to use only the lounge area with tables being set out appropriately to accommodate groups of four persons.
- Our staff will monitor the use of our facilities and Members must adhere to these requirements in order for us to keep our facilities open.
Club Golf Competitions
- The House Golf Competition will proceed as normal on Saturday although the planned evening function has been cancelled. As the PSI Screens are not being used, completed scorecards are to be put in the Competition letterbox.
