A Message From The Captain When I drove into office on 22nd February, it never crossed my mind that the course and club that I love would be closed less than a month later. My plans had long been made for the year ahead, including selecting all my playing team Captains, arranging the Captains trip to Kent, mixed weekend to the Forest of Arden and exchange day with Sherwood Forest, and not forgetting my Captains Charity Day, all now sadly in a state of uncertainty. However, all that pales into insignificance against the challenge that the world is facing at the moment. I know you will be concerned about your own safety and that of your families and friends at this time, and I do hope that you are all staying safe at this time. The Board of Directors is working hard to ensure that we are in as strong a position as we can be at the end of this crisis and I hope that Government is able to relax its restrictions in time for the summer.
Essential maintenance is being carried out on the course, including cutting the greens so hopefully, it won’t take long to nip it back into shape at the end of this and rest of the course team can return to work. Like me, I am sure that you are looking forward to getting back on the course and I hope that we are able to get back onto what is arguably the best course in the area soon.
