Face Masks

Due to the new government legislation, from Friday the 24th of July face masks will be mandatory to wear when coming into the pro shop. I’m sure this will take some time to adjust to but we would appreciate if you would all adhere to the new rules.

Staff will politely remind any members or guest to be compliant and ask you to exit the shop if you’re not wearing a mask. If anyone has forgotten their mask, we ask that you get a member of staff’s attention and we will try our best to serve you from the door however please be patient as this could take a little more time.

Thank you in advance for adhering to the new rules and I’m sure we will all get used to the new normal soon.

Grass Snakes

There have been several reports of snakes being seen on the course recently which probably thrived during the minimal disturbance of the rough during the lockdown.

These are most likely to be harmless grass snakes (pictured) but please don't pester or corner them, just give them a wide berth and let them go on their way and they will soon head into the long grass.

New shoes for less

After something new?

Lots of you are playing more regular golf now than you ever have done before. This is great and we're certainly not complaining!

However, with all that golf comes plenty of miles walking down the fairways (and sometimes rough). So, with £20 OFF selected shoes in the pro shop, now is the perfect time to upgrade your shoes to make sure you have all the comfort and support you need.

Being a single-figure golfer, there's a good chance that at least one club in your bag has been fitted to suit your swing. We're big advocates of custom fitting when it comes to purchasing new clubs and would encourage you to go through the process again if you're considering an upgrade to your set.

Changes over time

Whilst many of you have been custom fitted before, your specs are likely to alter over time as your swing changes.

This is the best bit about the fitting experience - trying out the latest products from multiple brand until you find the one you prefer.

You ARE good enough

A recent survey highlighted that nearly a quarter of golfers who haven’t been custom fitted before believe that they are not good enough to go through the fitting process. We're incredibly passionate about finding the best clubs for your game - no matter your golfing ability or experience - and an enjoyable fitting experience is the most effective way to do this and help you improve as a golfer.

Consistency is key

It’s nice to be able to hit the ball further and more accurately, and a custom fitting will help with that, but the main thing is to be more consistent so that your bad shots are few and far between.

This is the most enjoyable part for any golfer - trying out the latest equipment from different brands. It's not just about what performs best, but also about what you prefer in both looks and feel.

Once we have a club that you particularly like, we'll look at the finer details with you so it's perfectly set-up for your game. We appreciate it's a big purchase, so we want to ensure you walk away happy.

Making life easier off the tee

The average golfer will use their driver between 10-13 times per round. That means between 50-75% of holes are relying on that one club for a good start. But how do you ensure you get that good start?

Finding the right driver

First things first, if you want to find the fairway with more regularity then you need to feel comfortable with your driver. This game is made so much easier when we're confident in playing the shot at hand.
