The PMGC club amnesty has proven to be very successful and we have been hard at work listing, selling, packaging and posting to turn your old clubs into cash. If you have any old clubs stored away collecting dust bring them in and we can move them on for you. Click here to see what clubs we currently have on eBay- we won’t mention to anyone how good/bad/old the clubs are!
The big news in golf is Tiger announcing he’s taking an “indefinite break” from golf. This is a bit if surprise as it’s hard to imagine a pro tour without him, however as he battles injury and struggles with his game I think nobody would be greatly shocked if he retired or took a prolonged break from the game. Has his aggressive swing from his younger days caught up with him?
We have a new delivery of the popular Superstroke grips as used by many tour professionals, these are designed to help you take your hands out of the putting stroke and lower your scores.
It's a busy time coming up for us in the shop as in the coming weeks we will have deliveries of the latest products from Callaway, PING, Titleist, Galvin Green and more. There are some really exciting new products for this season and we look forward to being able to offer them to you.

PING Demo Day
The first demo day of 2015 at PMGC is on Wednesday 4th March from 1pm-5pm - we have two spaces left for appointments, please contact us to book. The fitting specialist will have the latest ranges from PING including the new Rhapsody ladies range. Everyone is welcome, please feel free just to turn up on the day if you would just like to hit some for yourself.
We plan to run as many demo days as possible throughout the season, so keep an eye out for times and dates.
This weeks' tip is to help your practice and to help you to stop being on the range hitting balls without any purpose or doing anything than grooving in bad habits. Adam and I are big believers in using swing drills with wedges (lower swing speed, shorter club etc.) to help improve your golf swing as well as our own. If you watch any golfer you’ll understand how good great players balance is (including Bubba!) and also how impressive their timing is. Below is a list of drills to incorporate into your next practice session which will help your practice to be more worthwhile.
All with a wedge and slowly to start (even without a ball to begin with and just a small swing)
shots off one leg (perhaps 5 shots off each leg)
one handed shots
feet together
feet together but crossed legs
pause drill- stop at the top of the swing count to 2 and then start the downswing
It's not a test to see how well/bad you hit the ball however drills like these are used regularly by the best players/coaches in the world as they really test balance, co-ordination and timing. If you need any advice on these drills, call into the shop or grab us whilst we are out on the range.
