He had already won $12,030,465 thisseason which doesn't include Sunday's $10million FedEx Cup bonus! Let's not forget he isonly 22 years old, what career ahead he has gotahead of him, and I'm sure some great battleswith Jason Day and Rory McIlroy for a few years!Hopefully we can all take some inspiration fromhis year and make next season your best year todate. Winter is on its way and it is the perfecttime to get your swing back on track. On Tuesday Adam and I played in the NorthantsPGA Stroke play event at Northampton Golf Club.On a blustery day scoring was very good, Adamfinished 3rd with rounds of 70 70, which couldhave been better with two late double bogiesafter reaching -6 after 11 holes in his secondround, including a run of 5 birdies in a row onthe front 9., I finished well back with tworounds if 73 and 79. Paul Broadhurst was theoverall winner with rounds of 66 and 68 whichwas excellent scoring on the day.

Tip of the week

Adam's Tip of the week

A buried lie in a bunker can send shivers downthe spine of even the most skilled golfers. Thequestion is, how can we get the ball out of thebunker?

Firstly we need to understand that like anybunker shot, the sand sends the ball out of thebunker not the club contacting the ball.

However, this is a much worse lie and the ballis buried in the sand, so we are going to needto get the club to come down more steeply intothe sand behind the ball for this particularshot. To do this we need to setup with as muchweight as we can get in our lead foot, with theball position further back than normal (to helppromote and steeper angle of attack from theclub) . Your club face should be square toslightly open at address.

From this position the club needs to be swungmore steeply for this shot, feeling as if youare very much up and down, like you are choppingdown into the sand. The more chop down and underthe ball the higher and soft the ball comes out.Note as you are taking more sand than normalyour follow through will more likely be shorterthan normal.

So next time you're practising your bunker shotsbury some balls and try it. You will besurprised how easy it is to get the ball out ofthe sand.
