Adam's Tip of the week
The Sequence your swing is vital if you want toreach your potential. This is referred to as thekinematic sequence, this is the order of whichwe generate speed in the swing. Dr Greg Rose(TPI) has found through his research that allthe great ball strikers have the same kinematicsequence, even if their swings don't lookanything alike.
The order of which to start the downswing hasbeen talked about for years and is somethingpeople often struggle with. We often seeinggolfers trying tries to hit the ball from thetop of the swing with the shoulders and arms.Instead you should start from the ground up,shifting your weight from back foot to frontfoot, followed by the unwinding of torso, thenthe arms and finally the club head. This is theorder of every great ball striker.
Have alook at this video and try some shots orpractise swings like this. Start from a normalstance and then step back to you back foot (thiswill make sure that the ball position iscorrect). You can see in the video that the leftleg shifts back in the direction of the targetwhilst the arms and club head are still goingback. This is making sure that your lower bodyis starting the sequence of the downswing.
Practise this for a week and you will be amazedhow far and consistently you hit the ball. Formore information on kinematic sequence by DrGregg Rose, see link below.
