Adam'sTip of the week - Areyou trying to improve your downswing butcan't because your backswing is holding youback?
This week we are going to help you to fix yourbackswing. In the backswing we are trying to getthe club in a position which allows us toefficient club head speed and a decent club pathcoming into the golf ball. We often see playersrolling the face open in the backswing causingthe club shaft to be too flat in the backswingresulting in a re-route at the top of the swing(think in and over action), resulting in a swingthat produces an out to in club path.
Thisweek work on making sure you keep the club headoutside the hands in the takeaway, which willhelp you to help you cock your wrist correctly. If you have done this correctly the club will beup more vertical in the backswing and feel verylight. From here you will find it is much easierto get the club onto plane in the downswing. It's not about a perfect backswing it's justabout having one that doesn't hinder yourdownswing!
Practisethis and you will be surprised how much betteryou start to deliver the club into the golfball. If you struggle to get this position youneed to come and see us so we can check yourgrip position
